Thanks to the feedback from our students, C.O.B.R.A. Defense Mentor has made some exciting tweaks to our self-defense program. In today’s busy world, we know it’s hard to find the time to do all the things you want and need to do. As an alternative to committing to a 5 or 10-week C.O.B.R.A. academy to expand and refine your skills, we have divided the program into smaller 2 to 2.5 hour segments. These segments are comprised of modules that our students can build upon beginning with our basic class. If you have participated in our Family & Friends, Ladies Night Out, Real Estate Safety, or a Corporate Class, you have already completed the Basic Class! Congratulations!
Our Intermediate Class will build upon techniques learned in the basic class and will include MORE hands-on drills and scenarios to expand and develop your self-defense skills. Included in this level is weapon securing/stripping. Participation in our Basic Class must be completed prior to participating in our Intermediate Class.
The Advanced Class goes one step further! You will continue to work on the fundamental strikes and blocks learned in the Basic Class. You will expand on your weapon stripping skills that were introduced in our Intermediate Class. This advanced class includes ground-work (i.e. escaping from an attacker who has you pinned to the ground). Completion of our Basic and Intermediate Classes are required prior to participating in our Advanced Class.

Be Smart While Using Your SmartPhone!
Predators are looking for signs of weakness in their potential victims. Being distracted by a cell phone and unaware of your surroundings, is a weakness the predator is looking for. Heads Up, Phone Down!
It’s tempting to check your phone as soon as you enter your car after work or a shopping trip. Before looking at your phone Lock and Relocate!
Smartphones have safety features (Emergency SOS) that will allow you to make an emergency call without having to go though the normal unlocking gestures. If you are unaware of how to make an emergency call on your phone, find out now! Know Your Phone!
Most smartphones encode a GPS stamp called a “geotag” onto digital photos, which can reveal the exact location a photo was taken. When shared on social websites, predators can use this data to stalk victims and scout locations. Disable your phone’s geotagging. Stop your phone from oversharing!
If you have participated in one of classes in the past and have not written a Google review of your experience with C.O.B.R.A. Defense Mentor, please take a few minutes to write one.
Almost 100% of our business comes from the good ole’ fashioned Google Search. If you’ve taken one of our classes, chances are that’s how you found us as well. Here is why Google is so important to us:
*86% of consumers read reviews for local businesses (including 95% of people aged 18-34)
*Consumers read an average of 10 online reviews before feeling able to trust a local business
*57% of consumers will only use a business if it has 4 or more stars
*91% of 18-34 year old consumers trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations

Our two hour long CAP program is for children ages 4-12. They will learn who can be a threat and how to respond to that threat; what not to do and why; how to verbalize; and how to use physical techniques against an attacker. We also teach them how to use a vehicle to their advantage if an abductor is trying to get them into a car. The knowledge and techniques they will learn will be reinforced using role playing and 911 scenario drills.
Visit cobradefensementor.com for more information on upcoming CAP events, or call 440-463-5022.
